Product Developer

The Product Developer is responsible for bringing the designer’s vision to life by accurately communicating technical specifications and fit comments to suppliers.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure materials meet or exceed our customers expectations of quality by coordinating and analyzing wash and wear tests for new materials.
  • Research current and upcoming product development innovations and work with design and production to onboard suppliers that can support in bringing them to market.
  • Translate design sketches into detailed technical packages including detailed construction images, seam finish details and clear material descriptions.
  • Create accurate and detailed measurement charts to inform pattern makers and troubleshoot style level variations.
  • Provide graded measurements for each point of measure within a garment.
  • Plan and run fit sessions. Accurately documenting fit changes, update measurement charts, update sketches and communicate all comments to suppliers.
  • Responsible for ensuring styles are approved by cut dates in order to maintain on time delivery.
  • Review all prototypes to ensure the highest quality finishing techniques are used and expertly executed.
  • Work with suppliers to provide photo shoot samples for marketing.
  • Request, review and approve lab dips for all fabrics and trims within a given style.
  • Set up new styles and create Bill Of Materials in Apparel Magic.
  • Organize and maintain digital pattern files.

Requirements:

  • Extremely detail oriented in order to ensure technical specs and style measurements are clear and accurate.
  • Excited to work in a fast paced environment where we are constantly learning and improving.
  • Not afraid to ask questions and drive their own personal skills development.
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.
  • 4 year degree in Fashion Design or related field.
